Common Shopify Errors and Warnings

Below are the common errors and warnings you might encounter while working with Stock&Buy and Shopify:

Warnings

Item PROUCT_NAME from store STORE_NAME_OR_URL was not recognized as a product and will be imported as a custom item. Did you forget to import your products?

Meaning: When an order is processed from Shopify, Stock&Buy crawls the order items and does its best to match the items to existing product variations within Stock&Buy. This error usually happens when you create products in Shopify instead of Stock&Buy.
How to fix: Import products from the store. You might want to publish the product back to other stores if you are running a multi channel business.

Order: #ORDER_ID was created before you installed Stock&Buy or imported your products. To avoid inconsistencies, it will not be imported

Meaning: When you install Stock&Buy on your store, we get the current inventory. If there were orders created before the installation, any processing from Stock&Buy would lead to inventory discrepancies. This is why we never import orders created before the installation date.
How to fix: This is more for information. There is no way around it. This warning will disappear for all new orders created after you installed Stock&Buy.

Cannot sync stock for variant PRODUCT VARIANT NAME to STORE_URL.
The variant has not been synced to your store yet.

Meaning: Stock&Buy tries to sync a product variant name to a Shopify store but failed to do so as the product variant isn’t synced to the store.
How to fix: If the variant isn’t meant to be synced with the highlighted store than the warning message can safely be ignored. Otherwise, you might either need to either import your products from your store (if the variant already exists in Shopify) or publish your product from Stock&Buy to Shopify.
